Depression
What is depression?
Depression is a common but serious mental health condition that effects how you feel, think, and act. Depression is more than just feeling sad or going through a tough time—it’s a persistent mood disorder that can last for weeks, months, or even longer without treatment.

Symptoms can include: persistent sadness or feeling "empty" for most of the day, negative thinking patterns, fatigue or loss of energy and social withdrawal.

Ways of Managing Depression
- Mindfulness Meditation: regular mindfulness practice can help you stay in the present moment and reduce negative thinking. Apps like Headspace or Calm can guide you through mindfulness exercises.

- Depression can make even the smallest tasks seem overwhelming. Break things down into manageable steps and focus on accomplishing one thing at a time. This can help reduce feelings of being overwhelmed and give you a sense of accomplishment.

- Acknowledge even small accomplishments or steps towards recovery. For example, if you get out of bed or take a walk, give yourself credit. These small victories can help build momentum towards healing.
